The Jacob van Heemskerk was a Dutch Trump-class cruiser built by Nederlandsche Scheepsbouw and completed in England after the German invasion of the Netherlands.  Commissioned September 16, 1949, she had a displacement of 4,000 tons.  Post-war, she served as a barracks ship in several locations.  She was decommissioned November 20, 1969 and sold for scrap in 1970.

The Jaguar was a German 1924 Raubtier-class torpedo boat.  Commissioned June 1, 1929, she had a displacement of 1,300 tons.  Sunk June 15, 1944.

The Jamaica was a British Fiji-class cruiser built by Vickers Armstrong.  Commissioned June 29, 1942, she had a displacement of 8,000 tons.  She was scrapped on December 20, 1960 at Dalmuir.

The Java was a Dutch Java-class cruiser.  Commissioned June 3, 1925, she had a displacement of 8,000 tons.   She was sunk February 27, 1942 by the Japanese cruiser Nachie during the Battle of the Java Sea.

The Jean de Vienne was a French La Galissonniere-class light cruise built by Arsenal de Lorient.  Commissioned February 10, 1937, she had a displacement of 7,600 tons.  On November 27, 1942, she was part of the Scuttling of the French fleet in Toulon, an act to prevent French ships from falling into German hands.

The Jeanne d’Arc was a French Jeanne d’Arc-class light cruiser that was a school ship as well as a fully armed war ship.  Commissioned August 13, 1941, she had a displacement of 6,500 tons.  Post-war, she became a full time school cruiser before being scrapped in 1964.

The JU52 was a transport aircraft manufactured by Junkers in Germany.  Primarily used by the Luftwaffe.  Introduced in 1932.  Approximately 4,850 built.

The JU87 was a two seat ground attack aircraft, or dive bomber.  Designed by Hermann Pohlmann and manufactured by Junkers in Germany.  First flight was in 1935 and first used in combat in 1936 during the Spanish Civil War.  Famous for its wailing siren (“Jericho Trumpet”), it was the main symbol of German airpower during World War II.  Primarily used by the Luftwaffe.  Estimated 6,500 built.
