Built by The Montreal Locomotive Works in Canada, The Grizzly I was a modified version of the M4A1 Sherman tank that was manufactured in The United States. The notable differences were the Grizzly I had a longer range, thicker armor, and was fitted with Canadian Dry Pin (CDP) tracks. This medium tank was produced between 1943 and 1944, with around 190 built in all. Used by Canadian forces, it had a 5 man crew and it featured a gas engine capable of speeds up to 38 km/hr (24 mph) and a range of 195 km. Weighing 30 tons, its primary weapon was a 75mm M3 L/40 gun although it also had 2X .30-06 machine guns.

Was the youngest Major General during World War II. He helped General Eisenhower with the planning of the Allied invasion of North Africa in 1942, and also took part in Allied and American staff operations in Europe and the Mediterranean. From 1953 to 1956, now a 4 star General, he was the Supreme Allied Commander in Europe.
